Day two in the UK!
A bit on the arrival to London ... Thanks so some special pills I ended up feeling twilight - like and was in and out of my light coma most of the time while in the air. Smooth sailing if we were on the water I would say so!
To extend on day one (Chris previous post)...
As chris mentioned we did have some fish and chips. Most people who know me may say at times I'm the "condiment queen" well I'm more of a condiment peasant in the UK because they charge extra for ketchup and tarter sauce! I think if I lived here I may have to cut that american joy of my life. Hmmm perhaps that is why Americans are fat because condiments are free! Touché !
The last place we wanted to see was the Globe. We ended up not going in because of a performance but ended up having dinner at a nearby restaurant called Porky's and split chicken and a salad. Our Hungarian waitress was quite chatty and she is going to San Fran next month and we exchanged experiences.
After dinner we headed to the bus stop... Somehow luck was with us because we caught the last bus...seemed to be going great until they said the blue line (which takes us to where our hotel is located) had stopped a few hours ago but not to worry it was only a15 minute walk. A 15 minute walk if you know where you're going ... We got home in an hour.
Currently we are on a coach bus that will be taking us to Baths. We left Windsor Castle about an hour ago. Chris and I were naughty and secretly took a few photos while we were in the castle. I wish we had more time there because the little town surrounding it had a lot of cute shops ....I had to remind myself that I'm not here to shop (even though while Chris was using the toilets I ends up spending 60 £€ .. Hmmm which symbol is pounds?)
{a few hours later}
Finished taking a Bath! Well obviously I'm kidding. I highly enjoyed seeing the Roman Baths! We only had time to stay near the Abbey and the Bath House. The bus took us around the town and I can say that this is one place I'd like to stay a 1-2 days at. Cute little boutiques, coffee shops, and parks. The tour guide said that Nicholas Cage (American actor) once lived in Baths because his son went to school close by that city. Just passed some sheep.... We are driving through country side. While we were taking photos near the pools I got artsy and sat on a short pillar, shortly after that a lady yelled across the court yard for me to get down. Oopsie . I'm sure that won't be the only time I get scolded at during this trip. Before we got on the bus Chris and I enjoyed a apple rhubarb custard pastry... Most delicious. We accompanied It with a iced coffee (it said iced on the menu but they made it frozen).
Our last stop of the day was dun...dun...dun STONEHENGE ! It really is quite amazing. Chris insisted he do another yoga pose. Just so everyone knows Chris does not do yoga... I don't know where this obsession came from.
On our way back we had to use the tube... That is what their Underground Railroad is called. We made it back successfully unlike last night.
Goodnight London and goodbye to thy tomorrow.
that last pic is great!
